I Bought 20 Used 16 Inch Tires Today for 5 Bucks Each....

A woman would never understand this.  Some men might not understand this either.

About 4 or 5 years ago  I bought 20 used tires with good tread for $10 each,  Keep in mind, these tires when new go for over $100 each.  You might even have a hard time finding them for $100 each, they might be more like $130 each.

A woman would suck it up and pay the $130 + per tire.  I don't know about you, but when I can locate a bargain, I go for it.  It sucks to pay lots of $$$ for tires.

There is a local large company that does fleet maintenance.  They mechanically maintain thousands of cars and trucks.  As part of their maint, when tires are 2 or 3 years old, they replace them with brand new tires.  Those used tires,  they sell.  They have a half inch or so tread and are in basic good condition.

I gave them a call today and asked if they had any 16" tires on hand.  The guy said they had about 50 that he could let go for $5 or $10 each.  About 20 he could let go for $20 each and 20 more for $35 each.  The higher priced ones ($20 to $35) have like 3/4" or more of tread.  The $5 ones, which I bought have like a 1/2" of tread.  That works for me.

I had about ten 16" tires on hand.  Add these 20 more and now I have thirty 16" tires on hand.  My two vehicles use these tires.  If history repeats it's self, these 30 tires will last me about the next 10 years!  10 years of tire wear and driving for a couple hundred bucks works for me. :)

It's always nice to locate bargain prices on items that you need.  Especially when the regular price is considered very high.
